yes. You made need to put a large piece of plywood (larger than the washer width and depth) and secure it to the existing floor. This will spread the weight of a load of wash (and its water) over a larger surface it will disapate the weight and lessen the washer from "walking"!
it sure seems like thats the culprit. I would use 3/4" ply (1/2" if not) but I would not go any thinner than 1/2" ply. Any thinner it probably will not do the job.

Thanks Virginia. It sure seems they ought to have to tell you or state that. When it was delivered, the installers did not tell me. I am trying to decide if I need to rip the floor up, replace the floor and/ or...
Oh yes! I would get a carpenter in to recommend a permanent fix and/or get a new washer. Unless you evenly distribute all the clothes in the washer they will all shimmy. My washer will stop and alarm it clothes are not even.
Right now, I am doing laundry on slowest spin and hanging clothes out to dry. Will have to replace by winter.
Besides installing 3/4" plywood to the floor underneath your machine, google information for anti-vibration pads. I have same problem, my Miele washer vibrates so much during high spin that it rattles the pots & pans in my kitchen which is on the adjacent wall.
I forgot to mention in my above post, you might want to get a professional come in an check the integrity of your joists to ensure they haven't been weakened. If so, they can do a process called sistering to strengthen them. (not expensive).
Thank you so much.

i live in a mobile home. Bought Maytag washer and dryer 10 years ago. They would walk across the floor every time wash was done. Bought little feet at Lowe's and put under all four corners of washer and problem solved. I also have drawers underneath.
I live in an older mobile home with in door laundry. My husband and I cut out the old floor, braced the area with 2x4's and then covered the entire laundry area with 5/8" plywood screwing it into the joists with proper wood screws, primed it, then painted it with exterior white paint, caulking all edges. Using a large level make sure your machines are level and balanced front to back, side to side before doing any laundry. Also do not overload the machine for several reasons, proper cleaning, and balanced loads. Best of luck.
I have a top loader and it walks, too.
