Empress Wu Hosta is not growing

Douglas Hunt on Jun 23, 2014You don't say anything about its growing conditions, but insufficient water is my first thought. "Empress Wu" has to have moist soil to reach its full size potential.Helpful Reply

The Garden Frog with C Renee on Jun 23, 2014Has it ever grown or stayed the same size? Without seeing a picture or knowing any more info I would assume that you could have a cultivar and not the actual patented Empress Wu. I have had this happen before. Or ...these hostas from what I have read (because this is on my wish list) are heavy feeders requiring fertilizer at least 3 times in a season! So I would try fertilizing and see what happens.Helpful Reply
