Give it plenty of water! Dont let it dry out!
Pussy willow should be grown in slightly damp, well-drained soil in full sun to light shade. First, use a stake to support the stem until it becomes established. During the first year, give it plenty of water. Instead of clipping stems, which can lead to congestion, remove broken or crossing stems and then thin off stems from the crown every autumn.
Hi Vicki, hope this helps you. Pussy willows grow well in almost any soil, but it is a good idea to supplement it with peat moss, leaf mold, or compost. They require full sun to thrive, but will survive in the shade as well. As with most willows, they do best when given lots of water.
