How do I paint chipboard cabinets?
My entire kitchen with floor to ceiling cupboards are in excellent condition but chipboard. I would love to paint them white. Any suggestions?

Hello Hilde! You don't mention whether your chipboard cabinets/cupboards have any finish on them right now. If they have never been touched with any product paint will soak in quickly and you would have to do a few more coats of paint than you might like! I suggest priming them first before you paint. Using a white primer will help you cover better when you get to the white paint part of your project. If you cabinets have been stained with a poly on them you can give everything a light sanding, clean them well so they are free of sanding dust, prime them, and then paint. I would suggest using an acrylic latex paint in an enamel finish. This paint is made for cabinets and trim and wears well but is much easier to clean up after painting than an oil paint would be. Do NOT use a paint with a primer already in it. Use a separate primer first, then your paint. Don't be worried that it looks ugly when you primer dries. It will look better once the first coat of paint goes on!
