How to Make Your Garden Sparkle With Mosaic
I saw these polystyrene balls online and thought I’d see if I could make a mosaic mirror sparkle ball for the garden with them.
I begin by choosing some mosaic mirror tiles and coloured 10mm vitreous glass tiles. I use PVA glue .
To stop the tiles slipping off I place the ball into a plastic tub and just to a few part rows at a time. Applying the pva glue to the ball and then placing times in a line. I follow the seam to guide me straight.
The first row I use the mirror tiles and these attach easily and if you need to move them there’s at least an hour before it dries to do this.
Keep adding rows of tiles and letting them dry before turning the ball. I add a variety of coloured tiles to give it some unique pattern.
Soon the ball becomes ready to grout and cement and seal.
I mix powdered white grout with water to a smooth paste and add pink acrylic paint to give it some colour.
Mixing it and then spread onto and in the crevices on ball with an old credit card.
Next stage is to clean off all excess grout with wipes or cloth and let it dry. It may need tidying up and cleaning Once more when the grout is dry.
So pretty nestled in my garden sure to bring some beautiful sparkle!

Frequently asked questions
Have a question about this project?
I have an old bowling ball that my neighbor put out with the garbage. I snagged. Do you think this would work on that? Been wondering what to do with it for garden, love your creation! Would bring it into shelter for winter in cold area?
Can you please recommend a sealer that would prevent damage from the element of Florida? You might know CRAZY WEATHER!!!
Also one more thing I forgot to mention. This is beautiful and if you can answer my question from the first question I would appreciate that.thank you
