Roundup kills Bermuda in about 4 or 5 days. I have used it for 40 years and it works great. I have tried cheaper home remedies with no luck. If anyone knows a home remedy I will sure listen but Roundup is a true killer of everything it touches or blows on but does not sterilize the soil. Take my word, I am a farmer. LOL

I have done that but, once again bermuda grass grows 6' down so putting in a new lawn doesn't solve the problem. Where I live, Central California, it grows into a beautiful lawn as long as it is kept moist and you water deep enough. It turns brown in the winter so we plant the grass in the fall which stays green until it starts to get hot which is when the Bermuda grass begins to green up again. Works well for me.

It's a constant battle. I use "Ornamec 170 Grass Herbicide". You use it in the spring and fall. Helps but you'll have to stay on top of the situation. The other thing I did was plant flower beds on both sides of our yard to build somewhat of a barrier between the neighbors Bermuda and our Zoysia grass. Again, still a constant battle but it helps some! Best of luck to you!

Roundup will kill Bermuda all the way to the deep roots! We can't be without it in farming country or it will choke our crops to death. It will take a few days to go all the way down to the roots end but it will kill in 3 or 4 days. It is a creeping devil but I live in a total farming area and for our yards, to kill totally for several months ,Roundup works. When new starts creeping in I just hit it again and push it back from my flower beds. Use it only in hot weather or it won't work. Read the label well and mix correctly. Good luck. One thing I will say, it makes a beautiful turf for yards, if you don't want flower beds, ect.

A grass killer is the only way to stop Bermuda grass. It has agressive runners that can go under concrete up to a foot or more wide. That is the only solution. THis soulnds like your neighbor may have Bermuda growing next to you zoysia. If so this is not a good solution as Bermuda will always regrow if root are there. Zoysia is expensive but beautiful to maintain. Bermuda is a lighter green grass that can me made beautiful but it too requires a not of fertilizer. Zoysia is a slow spreader and cannot outgrow bremuda. Good luck. Know your grass killing product well before use and study how it works. Weed be gone will not effect it because its leaves are too small. Weed be gone will kill Zoysia so beware.
