Tempt them with a mix of cheap cornmeal mix and borax, which won’t hurt your garden. Ants die.

Hi Melissa. I use Diatomaceous Earth. It is organic made of crushed shells and coral. Any insect with a exoskeleton that comes across it gets cuts causing them to dehydrate and die. Safe for kids and pets. I also use it for ticks.
How about sprinkling the earth with icing sugar (powdered sugar) and bicarbinate of soda
