yes! we had gophers and they are cute as heck! but were eating our veggie garden, my husband found where they were getting in to the yard, one spot was a hole from the neighbors yard to ours and the other was a hole near the back of your shed along another fence line, he filled in the holes and much to my disappointment ... it worked!! LOL the babies are so cute

I don't believe you are talking about gophers as they move under the ground and come above at night.

Pour Pine Sol in all. the holes you can find, they will leave and not come back.

so funny you said this ! I recently went to the dollar store...and out of sheer frustration with all the chipmonks and moles ruining my lawn, bought 5 bottles of pinesol. Got home..poured some in every hole I could find.

That was 2 weeks ago, haven't seen ONE new hole or activity. I also,,sadly...stopped feeding the birds to see if that would help. Obviously it does. I guess I'll have to keep my birdfeeding to the very cold winter months.

Use live traps then relocate them

Sorry about those sweet ughhhhhh veggie eaters, yes gophers do THAT.... Pine Sol sounds easier than snares or relocation...I have watched and helped lol, the relocation of 14 messy persistent racoons...over 2 yrs...an animal will always stay where the food supply is...so, a snare will kill them, but not our idea of humane...can u trap and also drive them to country side where they will be safe? If not, sounds like Pine Sol may be the only solution....good luck...

Thank you all for your suggestions. Since trapping them and relocating them aren't viable for me...I this k I'm going with the Pine-Sol idea. It sounds easy enough and definitely much more humane than killing them and less messy and less time consuming than trapping. I'm off to the store for Pine-Sol. I let you know if it worked for me. Thanks again.

  • If you or if you know anyone who has snakes, keep the skin when they shed and place a good long piece in each in hole. They won't be back. Tried and true!
