Is there a sure-fire way to get rid of Creeping Charley?
I would dig out and in that spot I would make a small well and drown in vinegar.
that weed is called Florida Bettony. Ugh. It spreads by seed and tubers. It's like roaches, you can't get rid of it.
I would foresake any plants you want to keep and laden the infested area with salt. Do two heavy applications, 3 weeks apart and water in each time. Wait 3 months before replanting.
Could that be nymatoads ?
I would drown it with vinegar and boiling water good luck!
keep mowing/cutting to ground level, tubers will not get sufficient nutrients and will die -- not a quick fix
Thank you for posting your question. Don't have it growing anywhere in this area that I know of. However, I learned something new & looked up about the weed & learned even more.
Aim carefully, but make sure you get them right between the eyes on the first shot! If not, run like crazy.
Oh goodness, I battled that for years at my old place. The only thing that helped was blocking out the whole area with cardboard, black plastic, etc. and letting it stay like that for a long time to kill of everything underneath. Then gently dig through and remove any tubers you still see. If you have plants you want to save, dig them up and put them in pots for the time being.
You try weeding everything out and then putting down a bunch of landscape fabric with thick mulch on top, sparing your current plants.
It's a waste of money to put down weed cloth, it comes thru any way and the cloth makes it very hard to pull the root out and it goes on growing. I find several layers of new paper works for me.

Sorry to say we have tried every thing put no success still comes back and hard to plant anything any more
