Paint color for walls to make oak trim less orange

everyone says using BM Revere Pewter is a popular color but after testing it next to osk wood trim it looks awful. It does look good with white trim though. Any colors that would work to brighten up dingy wood trim?

So if your set on a grey, I would get a blue gray.
You could also remove the varnish on your oak, and poly coat with a non-yellowing poly..... its the varnish/shellac that yellows over time and exposure to sunlight.
A blue gray color should neutralize the orange.
