Stencil paint creme's consistency helps keep paint from running underneath the stencil, keeping your design fresh and crisp without requiring a spray adhesive to hold the stencil down. This paint works on many surfaces, including walls, furniture and paper. Acrylic paint or latex paint also work with stencils, adhering to wood, walls and furniture alike. Both inexpensive craft acrylics or artist acrylics can be used. Oil paint, though, is not ideal for stenciling. Oil-based paints take a long time to dry; the longer the drying time, the more potential for a marred design as the paint seeps or blobs over the stencil. Clean the project surface thoroughly before working with paint and stencils to ensure the design sticks.
Almost any paint can be used for stencil if, as long as it is not thin or runny. On walls, the same type of paint as the walls is best. On horizontal surfaces, you can use thicker or more textured paint. The trick is to remove the stencil just before the paint is dry so the edges seal themselves. On floors, you can stencil oilfield colors, as long as you let the paint dry between each color. Best wishes 😇

Use stencil brushes (craft stores). Just put a small amount of the paint on your brush using paper towels to remove excess paint...you want a almost dry brush. Starting from the edge of the part you want to paint using a circular motion applying the paint a bit darker around the edge moving to the center shading lighter. Remember you can always add more paint building layers then you can remove it! Happy stenciling!
I can't wait to see how yours comes out!
