The inside of my range hood is dirty from years of cooking, but the outside is in good shape. What kind of paint can I use?

There may be a way, but I wouldn't do it, because your new surface would also have to be cleanable. You'd have the same problem again. You may be better off to keep looking for a cleaner that will work on the stains. I use Orange Glow to keep mine clean, because it cuts through the grease that other cleaners can't tackle. Good luck.

I use barkeepers soft scrub and a kitchen sponge to clean mine. If there's a lot of grease, clean with vinegar, water and dawn soap mixture. If all else fails look in your local habitat resale store for a replacement. Good luck. (p.s. I wouldn't paint it.)

You can paint anything if you use the right primer but I agree with Diana. If you paint it, every time heat hits it, it could give off dangerous fumes.

There is a spray paint that is for high heated items. We painted a $20 large metal fire pit from a garage sale with it. We cleaned the fire pit with a degreaser and hosed it off. Let it dry and than gave the fire pit....inside and out three coats of the paint, letting it dry a few hours between coats. We did this outside in the yard on a large piece of cardboard. It turned out great. We used black, but it may come in different colors. Go to a Lowes, Home Depot, or a Menards and ask about spray paint for high heat items.

I think to paint anything you have to have a clean surface first. The question therefor is how do I clean it. Smear on a coat of easy off, make sure to wear latex gloves when washing off the grime, off the dirt comes. Once it is cleaned it looks like new again. Good Luck

To clean off all that built up grease, use barbeque spray degreaser/cleaner. Cover stove with newspaper first. You may find you no longer need to paint the hood. Does a fantastic job.
