Gnats in apartment
How do I get rid of gnats in my apartment?
Hello there, fellow apartment dwellers! I'm seeking your advice on a pesky issue: gnats invading my living space
Have any of you successfully dealt with gnats in your apartments? I'm particularly interested in hearing about DIY gnat traps or homemade gnat traps that you've used.
I've also heard that vinegar can be effective in trapping gnats. Have any of you tried using vinegar traps? How did it work out for you?
Please share your tips and tricks on combating these tiny pests.
Thank you

Vinegar traps work. You can also put it down your drains to get rid of them. Also bleach in the drains works.
Use your ceiling fan or any fan for that matter. Yes Vinegar or sticky traps work. Most important is to make sure your drains are clean.. Baking soda, vinegar and extremely hot water will get rid of them in the drain.
Use a bowl of apple cider vinegar to lure and a few drops of dish soap. Placed near prime breeding areas, apple cider vinegar attracts the adult fruit flies, they drown, and ends the breeding cycle.
The picture is blurry but if that is black wings that look like and upside down heart they are sewer flies. Pour bleach in cellar floor drains. Sit for 15-20 minutes the flush with water. Keep water in drain. Add a half bucket of water in the dry months especially those that have dehumidifiers. It dries out the trap and the flies come up because there is no water barrier.
I've never used vinegar traps, but I have poured vinegar down the drains and it does stop them. I pour it down and then I stop up the plug and then I fill the sink with water overnight to make sure none of the gnats escape or the vinegar gets washed away.
You can make a fruit fly trap. Cut a plastic bottle about 2/3 of the way up. Remove the screw top lid. Squirt a little dish soap in the bottom, add 2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar, 1 Tbsp sugar, 1/2 cup warm water (dissolve the sugar). Place the top inverted into the bottom. They will fly into the neck to get at the solution but won't be able to escape.
Try using a shallow bowl or desert dish and fill it half full of apple cider vinegar and a squirt of dish soap. Works for me.
Gnats are usually found around house plants. You need to repot you plants with fresh new soil and be careful not to over water them.
I’ve never had any luck with vinegar or wine traps. I clean my drains with baking soda and vinegar then cover them with silicone tub covers. Works better than anything else I’ve tried.
