Need to fix my ceiling air vents to fit & stay up?

It fits but with air pressure keeps falling down just a little & no hard wood to screw into.

    The duct boot should have "ears" on the short sides for the screws to fasten the vents. Usually they are about 1" beyond the opening. They can't be seen since they are in the ceiling. Did you line up the screws with the hole in the ceiling?!

    Try a double sided insulation tape, it should seal any gaps and secure the vent. Try Home Depot/Lowes/Hardware stores and ask the professional there on duty what the best solution is for you.

    I would cut some pieces of 1x2 and glue them where the screws are. Make them full length of the opening. Sand the exciting surface to clean it. Use gorilla glue . And hold it place with a couple pieces of 1x2 accross the opening. The wood that you glued up should provide enough surface area to hold the vent cover in place and not impeed the air flow. Paint to match.
