Hutch lighting problem? Any ideas?

I have a wood hutch with a 3 way touch light in it. The wire from this is fastened to the hinge in which you touch to activate. The problem is it changes sequence by its self now and then with no one touching it. Have you any Ideas?

Sounds like you may have a short in the wire. I'd check the hinge area first. If there is no debris that may be activating the switch, I would replace the wire.
