Can anything be used to repair a large cracked glass table top?

Something got dropped on our glass cover on our dining room table. It started as a small crack that spidered across the whole table. It is a large wood table that we covered with glass originally. Can the glass be glued in any way?

I keep my wood table top covered with a heavy clear plastic sheet that I get from the fabric stores.

I don't know for sure if this would work, but you could try using clear Plaid Gallery Glass applied to look like leaded glass. If the glass turns over, I'd do both sides, two coats on each side and let it thoroughly dry before doing the second side. If you can't do two sides, you could try just the top. Someone else might have another idea instead of just replacing it, so I'd wait to see if there are a few more suggestions. :)

If the crack doesn't go all the way through front to back, ask your local windshield repair guys if they can fix it with the epoxy they use on windshields. (BTW, my sister has a glass topped dinning room table she protects with a slab of wood with cork glued to the under side to absorb small impacts. It also keeps little fingers off the glass).

Call a windshield repair company. Dont know why that would not work.

The windshield repair is meant to be used when the crack is small, there is no miracle fix for large spidered cracks. There are ways to mask it, but they will also hide your lovely wood table. I use DuoFire brand window cling film because it comes in large sizes. They have lots of designs, including frosted, available on amazon.

I got mine at AC Moore, but I also know they have it at Hobby Lobby and some on Amazon. I would think that any craft store would have it. To do the 'leaded glass technique' put a bunch of the product on the glass and use three fingers and make circles with the product. Keep doing it until you are satisfied with the look. Try googling 'Gallery Glass privacy' There is a woman who comes up a lot with her office doors. She did each panel and got a leaded glass look on the door going into her office Good Luck :)
