How to repair finish on wood, finish removed by painters tape?

We recently painted our living room and dining room. We taped off the wood with painters tape and when we removed the tape the finish appears to have come off. We used 3M painters tape.

If you are asking about a warranty claim on the tape, that's not us. You likely know that you have to repaint so you're not asking that. If you want to know why the paint came off, there are two possibilities. Either the paint was not fully cured or the surface that the paint was on was not properly prepared and it did not have good adhesion.

I think you misunderstoo, the finish came off the wood not the walls that were painted. Not looking for any claim just ideas how to repair it

If it's only small areas, maybe try a wood stain stick to fill it in. http://www.minwax.com/wood-products/maintenance-repair/minwax-wood-finish-stain-marker. If a lot of the finish came off, I would guess it will need to refinished altogether.
