Re Roofing an Old Mobile Home is Not a Good Idea.

We don't recommend doing this. What is on the mobile home now is what is suppose to be there. The house can only handle the load that it's rated for.
Some people think all they need to do is put a pitched roof on top of a old mobile home. However the side wall load will not handle the extra weight and the fire marshal will not approve it if the house has to be moved from the park. If the park is telling you to update your home in order to keep in the park you really should consult an engineer first before you put a roof on it.

We consulted an engineer for our lake place mobile home and we ended up with a white aluminum roof over our existing roof. (Costly, but guaranteed for 30 years). Metal was too heavy for the wall structure of the trailer.

Re roofing requires big investments. If there is no more than 50% damage, then do not go for whole roof replacement. I advise you to just coat it with DIY Liquid butyl rubber roof sealant that gives a new roof with an aesthetically pleasing look for a fraction of cost of roof replacements. It will repair all kinds of roofing issues like leaks and minor wear n tears with just its primer free, single coat. After the product dried, it looked like someone put on a brand-new rubber membrane. EPDM coating has a long list of benefits including UV and ozone resistance, solar reflectivity, a waterproof membrane, expandability and corrosion resistance that protects the roof from harsh climate conditions.
