How do you shorten cordless blinds?

I would like to put cordless blinds up on 2 smallish windows (approximately 30.25" wide by 37" long). It's not hard to find blinds with the proper width, but seemingly impossible to find them any shorter than 48". I am trying to avoid having too much "bulk" in the blinds when they're completely open, so would like to make them as close to the window length as possible. Everything I've read about shortening blinds makes slamming one's hand in a car door sound more appealing (and certainly quicker!), so any simplified instructions would be greatly appreciated!

Just order them the size you need. They custom order blinds at home depot and lowes.

This is actually pretty simple. If you go to u tube there is a step by step video on shortening your blinds. I watched the video and it seemed fairly easy to do so I gathered up what I needed and successfully shortened my blinds. I am 65. So I know you can do this. And yes, you can teach an old dog new tricks. My blinds came out very nice at their new length.

Thanks for the encouragement & information! I'm only one birthday behind you, so it's good to hear that I can alter some $10 blinds & save a boatload of bucks! I found a You Tube video that lasts one minute & 46 seconds, & it seems pretty straight-forward. I hope I have located the same one you learned from. I really appreciate your suggestion. :-)
