Outdoor Living: $100 quick patio fix

We've been so busy with the inside of our house that we've completely neglected the equally trashed exterior. With a visit from the Mother In Law looming, we had to do something. A ...»
little paint, sewing some straight lines, some electrical conduit for curtain rods, painting a design on a $19 outdoor rug, and a few plants, it turned this trashed space into a nice place to sit for about $100 in a day's time.

  • Finally finished sunroom with tile over cement floor. Absolutely love and enjoy this room.
  • Here I am ready to proudly celebrate the 4th of July with family and friends. Makes a big difference.
  • New walkway to the sunroom. Helps to keep dirt and mud out of the sunroom. The squares was left over from the new front walkway and the round ones, I bought 15 years ago and never used them. They just stayed piled up at the barn. 3 projects finished. This walkway on the right side is edged with brown aluminum edging. 2
  • A year in the making finally finished. Absolutely love it after 23 years of not having a walkway. No onto more projects! 2

  • I decided I wanted chickens about 4 years ago. So the hubby built this for me. He even built the bird house next to it. I think he did a great job. 3

Deck and Outdoor Living Tuna Can Lantern

Inexpensive and easy way to make DIY outdoor lighting by re-purposing a tuna can. A dowel, paint or old broom stick, wood screw, copper fitting, and a thrift store glass hurricane is all that is needed. Simply drill a hole in the can and dowel to attach the dowel/paintstick and spray paint it. Once the paint is dry add the glass hurricane. Cost- $5.00
