  • Take your light and check it out closely as some are different. 1
  • By the bulb you should see some small screws
  • Remove the screws and SLOWLY pull the pieces apart. You will then see a normal, everyday, single AA battery. Yep, that is what gets charged by the sun during the day so that it glows at night! 2
  • Change the battery out with a new one and...Let there be light! 2
  • Now, if you have a different type of light, say like this one from WalMart, with the globe on top, it gets even easier to replace the battery.
  • Kathe With An E~DIY Fix Your Solar Lights
Simply pull the stake out and you will see this on the globe end.
  • One single screw. Leave the three screws by the bulb alone.
  • And there is your battery. Change it out, put the screw back in and you are done!

  • The ribbon not only held the wreath up on 1 nail on my door, it held the gloves, humming bird, and tulips in place.
  • Very simple tutorial. Our hose was way too large. I used kitchen scissors to cut out the center section leaving enough to still have a wreath left. I then taped the ends with mailing tape and secured the entire hose with a cable tie.
  • After everything was secure, I added my decor. The humming bird adds the cute factor but you could do this with small garden tools too.

Garden Hose Wreath

A friend of mine inspired me to make my own "Garden Hose Wreath". I love the surprise factor people get when they come to the front door. Why yes...I have a hose on my door. Even the mail man commented on this one!

Beer Bottle Soap Dispenser

Last June I made this beer bottle soap dispenser with, well, a beer bottle. Bud Lime to be exact. I used a blow dryer to get the stickers off, and then I added 1/2 water, and 1/2 pretty colored detergent. I've included a link to buy the liquor spout on line. They are fairly inexpensive.

  • Furry fabric from Joann's is one of my favorite table scape tricks. No sewing required.
  • I filled glass canisters I had in my bathroom with candy eggs.
  • $2/bunch daisies added the natural element to the table. Dollar store plates look like they are from Pottery Barn.

Decorating Your Easter Table for Less

A few tips on how to decorate your Easter table and not spend a lot of time or money doing it. The thrift store is a great place to start. I found a cute ceramic bunny that I added to my collection and they all add a sweet touch to the table.
