  • It takes very little! Pour a very small amount of fabric softener or vinegar in a bowl and dip the clothes.
  • Let them hang dry and then pop them in the dryer when you need them. You can use many times before you need to "re-dip" them. Also a wonderful air freshener as they hang!

DIY Dryer Sheets (One of my #ProudestDIY projects )

A while back I experimented with something when I ran out of dryer sheets. I did not have any coupons and I was NOT going to pay full price for dryer sheets. So out of this need came this ...»
idea.It is so easy to dip, dry and use over and over! This has saved me lots of money as I do NOT buy fabric softer sheets anymore!

What Should I do with this piece?

I scored this great primitive piece. What should I do with it? Sand it and stain it? Paint it? What color? Stencil it?

  • Mix half liquid dish detergent with half vinegar in dishwashing wand. 2
  • Scrub, rinse, done! Easy to maintain. 1

Shower and Tub Cleaner

This is a quick and easy way to keep your shower clean in just two minutes a day.Just get a dish washing wand and fill the dispenser half with vinegar and half with liquid dish soap. Keep ...»
it in the shower. That way everything is ready to go. When you get in, wet the sponge, and scrub away. Next, well, take a shower. That's it. I do a little section of the shower each day and work my way around the whole area about twice a week.

If the mixture gets thick, just add a little water. Also, I would caution that it is important to rinse well, and keep out of eyes as you would any cleanser.

  • Wash load with 2 cups vinegar. Wash again as normal. Dry thoroughly! Now my towels smell clean and fresh.

Remove Mildew Smell From Towels

My husband is very good at remembering lyrics, especially theme songs from television shows and commercial jingles from his youth. One of his personal favorites to sing is the theme song from The Beverly Hillbillies. "Let me tell y'all a story 'bout a man named Jed. A poor moutaineer, barely kept his family fed..." I prefer the few times I can get him to sing the theme song ...»
from the Love Boat. "Love, exciting and new. Come aboard, we're expecting you..." It is my own fault that he won't sing it more often, because I laugh hysterically every time and he feigns indignation.

  • After attempting to clean with Comet and Liquid toilet bowl cleaner I still had this nasty hard water build up scuzzy ring. 10
  • This is the AFTER picture :) 1
  • The lemon Koolaid works in the dishwasher too for removing the soap scum build up from the insides. Just put in in place of the soap and run an empty washer on it's regular cycle... The before and after will amaze you!
  • I know this looks nasty, but remember it's just Koolaid :) 1

Make your own natural cleaner. No chemicals, no harsh odors and safe for children & pets. Best part, it is inexpensive and only requires two ingredients: vinegar and lemons.

30 Minutes Per Week House Cleaning Schedule

I love to spring clean. That feeling you get when your house is so clean it squeaks! But I don't have the time most years to dedicate to a full on spring cleaning. So I came up with a printable schedule that breaks spring cleaning tasks down into 30 minute weekly chunks. Breaking down large tasks into bit sized portions always works for me! Come on over and print your own schedule and start spring cleaning this week! #organizedhome #springcleaning

  • This rustic piece started as an old discarded cabinet with broken handles. 2
  • We used old branches from the yard as hardware in keeping with the rustic look 1
  • A cat flap and vent were added. 1
  • The cabinet was gutted with the drawer fronts mounted on wood and hinged to open freely to clean the litter box 1
  • Coco started using it that day, and it's been wonderful to have the litterbox out of the bathroom. Coco loves the privacy too. 3
  • ... and this is the before picture 4

You'll never guess what's inside this cabinet..

Take a guess what's on the inside of this rustic piece. You'd probably never expect it. An old discarded cabinet takes on a whole new purpose.

The entire makeover can be seen at Recaptured Charm.

Storing Sheets in Pillowcases

Is it worth it? Trying to be like Martha Stewart, I mean? Clean house, amazing food, super organized, nifty crafts accomplished. The truth is, it is out of my reach. And I am okay with it. I have a friend who taught me a wonderful phrase. When you notice something about yourself that is not so hot, just remind yourself, I am good at other things. But when I see ideas like this ...»
from Martha's website, I wonder if that one, just that one, might be possible for me. I found it. This is the one. This is an idea that is doable and worth it.
