Pest Control: Hi! Found these mounds this morning. Any idea who or what made them AND should we be concerned? As always, many thanks.

KMS and Tammy: Thanks for your posts. ...»

I scratched up one of the mounds.....Nobody home, just the dirt. Went to the back yard and found a few more mounds through the lawn (not as high). They look like there was some burrowing being done. Guess I'll keep an eye on the mounds.

Gardening: Who or what?

Hi! Came out of the house this morning and saw diggings on the lawn and around the plants. Any idea who visited us last night? Thanks.

Friday morning. They're back! Sometime last night, after I stopped "spying" and went to bed, ...»
they must have brought their relatives for a feast (on the other side yard and lawn) What a mess! ....No buried treasure...Just a lot of holes.

Cleaning & Organization: Dual Purpose

Because of the recent rains, we have to drain some of the water in our pool. Usually, we connect a hose to the pump and let the water run into the "back forty". Would there be any harm ...»
caused if we were to use the spray on the pool enclosure screen and would the spray help eliminate some of the mildew on portions of the screen? Hence, a dual purpose. As always, many thanks.

Cleaning & Organization: Electric Power Washer

Am looking through the weekend ads for an Electric Power Washer (my first one). A lot to choose from! ? What PSI should I concentrate on? I'll be using it to wash down the pool screens and deck. As always, many thanks.

Gardening: St. Augustine Grass

I know, I know....There ain't no seed....BUT, I've seen ads for Scott's Turf Builder EZ seed that guarantees grass growth. I am not prepared to replace the brown/bare areas with sod at ...»
this point but would like to "fill-in" with something. The EZ seed comes in different types namely regular, tall Fescue and Bermudagrass. Question: If I decide to seed (any Brand) what type of seed would you suggest? I am NOT necessarily looking for a match since I will eventually be re-doing the entire lawn, just a temporary fill for the bare spots. AS ALWAYS, many thanks.

Gardening: What are they and what to do with them?

Hi! We have a dozen of these ? , each is at least 8' tall and growing. When we moved in last year, we asked the neighbors what they were and got several different answers. (Previous ...»
owners also didn't know) The only flower (see picture) appears (I think) in the Spring and that's it. We would like to keep them under control. Any assistance, greatly appreciated.

Gardening: Thorny Question

Hi! @ eight years ago, we bought a "Mickey's Mini Orange Tree" at Disney World. Started in a pot @ 9" tall, grown inside until about a year ago and now thrives in our yard. ...»

Question: Unlike those we''ve seen at Home Depot and Lowe's, it has thorns. Is this unique or is it normal? PS It has never flowered nor has it had any signs of fruit.

As always, many thanks.

  • That drill/driver isn't big enough, I need more power! I don't think so Tim! These compact drill/drivers pack more of a punch than you might think. Check out what this real user thought: http://bit.ly/wZF0LT 4
  • Everyone dreams of owning a giant cabinet saw, but not everyone has the room or the budget (or loves their fingers too much). Check out what this user thought about something a little more accommodating: http://bit.ly/ArMdNV 12
  • Running out of room in your shop? This miter saw takes the space of a compound miter saw, yet still gets the cutting capacity of a sliding rail miter saw. Check out what this contractor thought: http://bit.ly/wz8Wdh 6
  • Tackling any projects with multiple materials? A twin blade circular saw is a great solution allowing you to cut without switching blades. Watch it in use: http://bit.ly/yOvtYw 1
