Old Door Privacy Screen

I used old doors from our 1938 home to make this privacy screen for our backyard. I used to hinges to attach them to each other. I painted them and sealed them with Helmsman since it would be outside. For more pictures, and outside decor ideas visit my blog at www.notjustahousewife.net

  • Secure the 4 corners of the gate with chain or rope and suspend at the desired height.
  • I used 7- 6" Terracotta pots and dropped 4" Zonal geraniums inside. This will give you a good design balance.
  • I used 7 pots for this project. When making a cluster of objects, always use an odd number for best results.

  • I scanned my Mother's original recipe card. I saved it as a JEP file.
  • I reversed the scanned copy in "Paint" and made a toner based copy. I used the Woodworker's tool to transfer the copy of the card to the cutting board. The tool is very hot, be careful.
  • I turned the toner based copy toward to cutting board to "iron" with the transfer tool. I stained the cutting board to age it and added Wipe On Poly as a top coat. Sorry this photo has a glare!

Vintage Recipe Transferred to a Cutting Board

My Mother passed away 23 years ago. I went through her recipe book to find a recipe card I wanted to transfer to a cutting board. The transfer is in her handwriting!
