Linen and Jute Wreath

I never thought to use the vine wreaths but they are so much cheaper than the foam ones. I also was able to buy the accent fabric from the remnants which was great since I spent a little ...»
more than I imagined on a lovely khaki linen fabric. Lately, I've been shopping the remnant section because the fabric's cheaper and I don't have a bunch left over.

  • I love how soft the colors are yet I'll be able to swap out the bunting for summer.

Spring Mantel Reveal

I'm so excited about my new mantel decor. After the holidays, I wanted softer decor that read Spring every time I looked at it and I wanted to make only minor tweaks for the summer.

  • Remove all hardware and hinges. New hinges are a small investment but make a huge difference.
  • Sand down doors and drawers.
  • Primer and paint. I did use the combo and it worked so well. These only needed 2 coats.
  • Add hardware and rehang doors.

Updating bathroom cabinets

Since I'm staying at home, buying new cabinets and sinks is out of the question. We were dealing with white counter tops, taupe sinks and white tile with grey streaks. Knowing I needed to ...»
keep the taupe sinks and tile, I found a dark grey from Behr that complimented the sinks and tile.

This color would be the color of the cabinets and an accent stripe on the wall. I was nervous about painting the cabinets but let me tell you...it was so easy.

I'm itching to redo all of them in the house.

cutting the boards to size and using wood glue to fasten the boards together. You could use this mason jar storage anywhere in your home. I chose to use the storage in our bathroom, it works great for q-tips and cotton balls!

Crucial Kitchen Island Design & Spacing tips from http://newageglobalbu... Blog.

If you are planning on incorporating a Kitchen Island into thedesign plans of a new house, or you are simply buying a new kitchen island foran existing home remodeling job, you must know the following information fromthe http://newageglobalbuilders.com Blog.

#1Ceiling height / Kitchen Island space ratios- If you can pull it off, higherceilings will make your kitchen Island into a true champion. The reason is thata ...»

taller Island with some nice bar chairs is a perfect touch. In simple terms, the island should be a height that if you were to sit by it with a regularchair the table would be about 10 inches too high for the chair, but with a barchair, it's a perfect fit. Another reason for a higher ceiling is the fact thatthe ceiling height would accommodate your new kitchen Island or pendantlighting. A hanging kitchen light provides direct light right on top of arectangular area. There are many different styles but the main idea is that thelighting spreads around the body of the Island and provides a spot lighteffect. These are really popular in new "modern style"apartments springing up in my area of Queens and of course Manhattan. YourGeneral Contractor or kitchen remodeling contractor that is working with yourengineer would be the perfect person to speak with to help your design . Now ifyour ceiling is low, your table is high and your lighting is low, it is anequation that spells disaster. In this case I would probably recommend andIsland that is close to the height of a regular table and of course lightingthat hangs down a bit higher than the average kitchen island lighting fixture.

In mynext segment I will discuss the spacing around the island and the spacingrelative to the refrigerator, dining room, and kitchen counters. Stay tuned asNew Age Global Builders aims to please. The complete article can be found at http://www.newageglobalbuilders.com/blog/kit...

Shower and Tub Cleaner

This is a quick and easy way to keep your shower clean in just two minutes a day.Just get a dish washing wand and fill the dispenser half with vinegar and half with liquid dish soap. Keep ...»
it in the shower. That way everything is ready to go. When you get in, wet the sponge, and scrub away. Next, well, take a shower. That's it. I do a little section of the shower each day and work my way around the whole area about twice a week.

If the mixture gets thick, just add a little water. Also, I would caution that it is important to rinse well, and keep out of eyes as you would any cleanser.

DIY {Love} Banner

I've never made a banner for my mantel. I'm so in love this season with MY Silhouette Portrait. Not that I've finally broken it out of it's box, I'm a mad woman making it a point to try to incorporate it into every, single craft.

Pom-Pom & Ribbon Wreath for the Kids

My girls, however are not complaining at the daily newness around the house. They were even the recipients of a decked out playroom door an hallway. I started to realize early on, why ...»
should adults only enjoy the decorations. The truth is that the decorations excite my girls 10x's over me. I decided to give them a fun, colorful playroom entry that would make them smile every time the went in. I'd like to say it actually makes them smile EVERY TIME but nonetheless, I know the do love it.
