Crafts: Using Mod Podge on metal

Has anyone had experience using Mod Podge on metal? I saw a really cute metal watering can in Target's ad for $17.00. Although not that costly, no need for me to purchase it as I have a ...»
plain white metal watering can. I would like to try covering it with either fabric, scrapbook paper or wrapping paper. I have never used Mod Podge on metal, not sure it would work. Also appreciate any other suggestions!

Garden Salvage

it in the shower. That way everything is ready to go. When you get in, wet the sponge, and scrub away. Next, well, take a shower. That's it. I do a little section of the shower each day and work my way around the whole area about twice a week.

If the mixture gets thick, just add a little water. Also, I would caution that it is important to rinse well, and keep out of eyes as you would any cleanser.

I started doing this as well, with a few modifications. I do not have one of those shower ...»
heads that you can use to spray the shower walls so I use less Dawn & add alcohol. I have found that the shower still gets clean, there is less suds to rinse & since I have tiled walls in my shower the alcohol helps prevent spots when drying. I clean my shower while I am already in there, usually only needs to be done once a month because I am the only one using the shower.

  • Here is our "Seek Happiness" Valentine mantel. I found the fun, *vintage-y* canvas on sale at World Market ... truly an unexpected purchase ... and thought that it would be a fun focal point for our holiday mantel.
  • I wrapped our white candles with decorative Valentine's ribbons (Michael's) to give them a bit of color ... and then added rose petals, along with a couple of cute Cupids.
  • Rather than create a garland, I simply hung pink and red hearts (that I also embellished with smaller, decorative hearts) at varying heights across the mantel.
  • Inexpensive, whimsical adhesive tiles were easy to mount to white paper, which I then layered over red paper and framed in a frame I had on hand ... a cheap and easy project!

DIY Laundry Detergent Recipe -- Really Works!

I made laundry detergent from washing soda, baking soda, Borax, and castile soap. Here's the recipe: Now you need to measure with a tin can (just a regular tin can, like the kind that ...»
corn comes in). In a large container with a tight-fitting lid, mix 3 cans of Borax, 3 cans of baking soda, 3 cans of washing soda, and an 8 ounce bottle of castile soap. I found that stirring didn't work very well, so I put the lid on the container and shook it up really well.

I have been really pleased with this detergent. Dissolved in hot water (it is not as good in cold water), it actually removed stains and oils, and it makes the laundry smell really clean and fresh.
