We had our basement floor stained by Amazing Improvements. We finally chose colors and painted. We thought we'd post a photo of a section that's mostly finished but shows the flooring off. Feels homey to us and the concrete doesn't feel cold. It's been great with 4 dogs and kids. A good choice for the way we live.

I used an acid wash stain, put directly on the concrete, then sealed it
I am re-doing my living room. My sofa and love seat are dark brown micro fiber and my recliner is cinnamon. I want to do a blue and brown theme. I have teal colored curtains, and my throw pillows are teal, soft sage, green floral with a brown background. My walls are a light taupe. I plan on getting a couple of throws and accent pieces but what color should I go with... teal, soft sage, spring green or yellow. I want something that pops!! Thinking about an area rug also.

All my WT's come from JCP. Always having a good sale. The floral pillows beleive it or not
came from Dollar General on clearance for $3.00 each. I couldn't have made them for that price! The solid ones are from K Mart 2 for $ 14.99. I am a thrift shopper, never pay full price for anything.I was thinking floral arrangements in bright yellow, and I have a lot of aqua/teal glass bottles also.
To complement the stone fireplace in our keeping room, I decorated our mantel in shades of aqua, brown and cream, an unexpected color choice for fall. I created a backdrop using salvaged
wainscoting with a chippy painted patina and decorated the fireplace and mantel with a burlap wreath, blue Ball jars, candles, a picnic basket, pumpkins and a vintage yardstick ruler. I think the finished look is warm and cozy, simple and rustic with a touch of sophistication. You can read more about this project on my blog, AttaGirlSays.com #Bestof2012
