Fun & Floral Old Fashioned Spring Porch

For our newest spring porch decorations we concentrated on adding bright colors and florals, using what we had or inexpensive additions, so everything is DIY, easy, cheap and yet so beautiful and refreshing! Just what we need after our long, cold winter, right?

We've got tutorials for easy-to-paint spring pillow toppers, a garden hose wreath updated from last spring, and an idea to paint your plastic pots a new color to coordinate with spring flowers.
For our spring decor, we did four pillow toppers using very inexpensive fabric ($3 per yard) and acrylic paints we already had. The pillow toppers are simply wrapped around the pillows and pinned on the back. (note: use the link at the bottom to get the full tutorial for the pillows on our site- they really are easy!)
While we wished the birds loved our cobalt bird bath for splashing around, they just don't (we think they are afraid of seeing their own reflection in the water - any one have this problem or other ideas?). But all is not lost - we use the bird bath in our decor and for Easter we added the bunny and eggs just for fun.
Those plain plastic pots from the garden store aren't so pretty to look at. And who wants to buy new pots? We just spray painted ours with purple paint and what an amazing and bright difference, especially when planted with coordinating flowers!
We we changed out the ribbon and the flowers from our 'garden hose wreath' from last year - we just love the unique decoration it makes for our door!
