  • AFTER! 5
  • I chose Benjamin Moore Wythe Blue for the walls. 1
  • BEFORE ... beautiful and bold shades of reds, golds and greens filled their spaces, but it was time for a change!
  • AFTER: a calmer, relaxing space! We're going to be adding bamboo shades in the near future, too. 4
  • Fun spool table from Ballards paired with a fun, glass lamp from Pottery Barn. I chose four of these comfy, swivel rockers from Capri Furniture. 1
  • Of course, I just *had* to add an oversized, vintage boat! I also painted the table Annie Sloane's Old White chalk paint, followed by a bit of distressing. 3

My Parents' Sunroom that I Recently Redecorated

I was truly flattered when my parents asked me to redecorate a few of their spaces for them ... one of which being their sunroom. As they live on the ocean, I wanted to bring the color ...»

Painting: Need design help/fireplace/brick wall Paint ?

Here are additional photos of the end wall of the den. This is a long room. I have the den at the end with the fireplace.I have the sofa angled toward the fireplace. As previoudly ...»
mentioned I can not remove the embedded beam as it is 6/8 inches in depth. The fireplace has gas logs. Paint the entire brick wall? Cream? White? Add mantle? If so would you extend it to the firewood box since it is so close to the fireplace? Even though I am not a rustic kind of gal I do like the dark ceiling beams with the wood floor. Sorry for the crappy photos! Help!!

Therese, what a great idea! Please tell me what is written above each mantle. The only thing ...»
I could read (very small print and my computer would not enlarge it) is to make the top mantle against the header. Thanks!!!

Painting: Need design help with brick wall/fireplace

I am at a lost as to what to do with this wall. The rustic style is not my thing. This wall is at the end of the den/dining room. We can't remove the wood insert as it has a depth of 6-8 inches. Any suggestions? Paint it?

Yes, please more photos to help us see what else is in the room and the rest of this wall ...»
    would help also.

My first thought was to make a tapered mantel that would slide over this one but without a better view of this wall I'm not sure that would work. At least not on the ends.
