Gardening

I really like Autumn Joy Sedem - it adds so much to the fall colors. Once one has a plant it propogates so fast it almost becomes a pesky plant! But I would not want to do without it in my gardens!

  • A picture is worth a thousand words. This is very easy to do. Simply remove the globes, the bulb sockets and all the wiring and let the fun begin. I used acrylic paints and a clear spray sealer. Paint it, hang it, and enjoy it! 1

Candleabra from old hanging light fixture

A friend gave me this light fixture when she was remodeling her kitchen and said, "I could not bear throwing this in the trash knowing that you could make something pretty and useful of it". This turned out to be one of my very faves! We built a new home two years ago and it was difficult to leave this behind. A big thanks to my husband. He is great at repurposing! He is a retired industrial electrician/technician & I could say a "professional tinkerer". (Is that not totally southern? ha! :)

Painting: What should I do about this stairs?

I don't know what I should do. Should I sand it and leave it brown? I was thinking putting the same carpet all over because it would be safer in the winter time and not worrying about repainting it all over. So should I use different colors? What kind of paint should I use to cover it? What is your opinion? :)

Deck Planter Gains Life

Project: Goldens Bridge, NY

Client wanted fish but did not have the space for a pond. ...»

We removed a deck planter and constructed a very unique

water feature that was fish friendly.

Aquascape filtration and Basalt columns along with a

fish bowl turned this planter into a focal point for the family.
