I had a small dogwood tree here and the winter got it after 10 yrs. I would love something like that or another small blooming tree that would do well in full hot sun in the summer, No shade here.

  • I am just not into decoupage. I like colour and lots of it. Hmmm.... what to do?
  • I started by painting the teapot green. Then I added some purple stripes to jazz it up.
  • A small mason jar became the vase that fit inside just perfectly. Love the flower spout, don't you?

  • Erosion was a real problem. Not to mention the dirt the builders brought in. Very sticky clay plus a ton of rocks.
  • This is what we had to work with.
  • We dug out and built these tiers by hand one shovel at a time! We took the Garden of Eden Film approach and brought in compost plus year old mulch to serve as a natural "covering". So we rarely water our garden.

  • Rock garden at Darts Hill, Surrey BC.I love this look using alpine plants and hoped to have our rock garden wall look similar.
  • Checking out other rock gardens gave us ideas on what we wanted in our new rock garden. Here scree is used in this garden.
  • The first layer of rock was dug down and placed at least halfway into the ground for stability. Once the first layer was complete, the next was layer was carefully placed on top in brick fashion. Carefully select your rocks as you go.
