Using Common Household Items as Garden Planters

It seems that almost everything that is found around the house can be turned into a creative planter. Why not re-purpose some of your items.

This cute cowboy boot planter is one that I found recently at a garden center nearby. I love the use of succulents in it. It gives the whole planter a dessert like effect.

Flip Flop Wreath Tutorial

Have you been on Pinterest lately? Flip flop wreaths are all the rage. I couldn’t find a tutorial so I thought I would make a wreath and write one up. Here is what you will need: 6 pairs of flip flops in various colors, decorative jewels from the craft isle, hot glue gun, any other decorations you want (I used something I already had).

  • After the paint had dried we added outdoor pillows for added comfort.  We chose deep seated cushions for the bottom. 1
  • In the beginning we took an old headboard and began framing and building the base of the swing. 2
