Penny floors

Saw this kitchen floor made by mosaic artist Amanda Edwards using pennies. Seems like a great idea. I was actually thinking of using this idea for a backsplash, but still a lot to consider.

Don't discount old ugly furniture.

My husband and I love mid-century design, but it's so expensive, and sometimes difficult to find. We found this old sofa and chair at a garage sale for $75. Still had good bones, so we ...»
took it to a reupholstery shop, and for $275, they recovered them (including fabric!). Now we have a really cool mid-century set, of much better quality than the new reproduction stuff you find today. Reupholstery isn't as expensive as you think, and we now shop with that in mind.

Strawberry container ideas to plant.....

I happened to see a "Better Homes and Gardens" article on planting with strawberry containers. I went online for more ideas for herb plants for my strawberry container.

Front door color, Pretty in Blue

This is Farrow and Ball's 'Pitch Blue'.

It's got a nice, bright pop without the whimsy.

Concrete counter tops in the kitchen, good or bad?

We are pretty handy and thinking of installing concrete counter tops in our kitchen. Any thoughts or tips. I like the idea of granite/quartz but definitely doesn't fit my budget and I ...»
don't want to go tile and like the feel of a stone material.

  • Plian Doors and Transom
  • After Transformation 2

Same Doors - Same Day

We installed framed-sealed glass in their existing doors by removing the top four panels, and replaced the plain transom above. Avoided replacing the whole door frame unit. All work completed on-site in a couple of hours.
