About Me:

I have a creative itch that has to be scratched or it will drive me nuts.;) I have studied interior design and landscape design. I am a master gardener. I split my time between Michigan and Texas and have the best of both worlds.

Favorite area of home improvement:

I can't think of a favorite, I have done them all. I see it, think it, or hear about I have to try it. I have refurbed 6 houses now and think I'm done. Getting too old for this, but I love to see others creations.

Painted Rug

I painted and stenciled this rug on my back porch two years ago and it is still going strong. Painted rugs are so much easier and safer to maintain than actual rugs.

Recycled toolbox

I found this old wooden box many years ago at a junk store. It was dirty and appeared to be used to store tools. I cleaned it up, painted it, and used wallpaper boarder to decorate it. ...»
Couldn't believe I also found this metal frame that was the exact size to hold it. I used it for years at the end of my bed to hold extra linens. It has traveled all over the country with me. I love keeping junk from the landfill and repurposing it.

Framing Lace

I love to sandwich lace between two layers of glass.I bought this frame for less than one dollar and paid less than two for the glass. The glass allows the paint color to show through and the lace pops.

Vintage Green Table Makeover

I bought this table at a yard sale for $5. I cleaned it up, painted it with two coats of DIY green chalkpaint, distressed it, painted the hardware and coated it with AS clear wax.

  • Great yard sale find!!

Framed prints, a yard sale find.

I found these prints of Paris and London at a yard sale for $1.00 each. SCORE!!! I took them to Hobby Lobby during a 50% off sale and had them matted and framed. They make a large statement on my living room wall for little investment, and they remind me of my time there :) I smile everytime I look at them.
