doors before floors?

apparently so......I learned this today the hard way. Got laminate floors installed in July, and THEN decided I wanted new interior doors. I love my doors, which were installed today, ...»
BUT, since the floors were installed first, I now have a gap or two where the new frame doesn't cover the flooring. I am posting this for someone questioning which order to do this in. The funny thing is, my coworker and I just had this discussion this summer because she was doing both at the same time.

I now have to call back the flooring installer and hope he can do something for me that doesn't involve pulling up the floor and recutting. (which will not happen as far as I am concerned.) I did go purchase a new threshold and something called Pergo Sealant, which I may have to resort to to fill the gaps.

  • A Swiffer Sweeper. Is it worth creating solid waste to have and use one of these?

Cleaning & Organization: Does anyone out there use a Swiffer?

Do you like it? Do you not like it? Do you have an ecological alternative? Is it the best thing since sliced bread, or could you live without it?

As a house cleaner for other people for years, I love them. I vaccum then I mop the floors, ...»
then go back over them with a dry swiffer and boy, the dirt and hair that settles back on the floor. . .it amazes me everytime, especially if there's animals in the house with fur. Just picks it right up. Flip the swiffer sheet over and get a little extra use from the other side to !

Does Size Matter For Kitchens?

Does a kitchen have to be big to be beautiful? Can small kitchens satisfy? We think that beautiful kitchens come in all shapes and sizes! Here is what REALLY matters: 1. It's not the ...»
size, it's the functionality! Create a kitchen that functions for You! When remodeling an Atlanta kitchen, we consider everything from the families' shopping habits to the chefs' heights to ensure we create a space that works for the family that lives there! 2. Proper landing and prep space and adequate/comfortable traffic flow are possible even in smaller kitchens. If you don't entertain and prefer a smaller kitchen, there is nothing wrong with that! 3. If resale is a consideration either now or in the future, factor that in to all your kitchen decisions when you remodel. Whether you love big or small kitchens, consider the opposite point of view to ensure some universal appeal if you'll need to sell your home in 5 - 7 years.Questions about kitchen remodeling? I'm thinking that depends on the size of your family. You wouldn't want to sit 8 people down ...»
in a small eat-in kitchen, and a 2 person family wouldn't want to get lost in a big kitchen. So yes, in my opinion, size does matter...
