Home Maintenance & Repairs: Raleigh area NC, we have a crawl space under the house. In what season do we leave the small vents open? Closed?

George, Your vents should never ben open. Sealing the crawl space is what you need to do. ...»
Check the department of energy's site at www.crawlspaces.org for more information. They actually did a study of crawlspaces in NC that your might find relevant. Sealing, putting down a heavy vapor barrier and if it's damp you may need to consider dehumidification.

Gardening: Split leaf philodendron roots?

I have a huge ( 6 ft across) philodendron, and need to know if I can trim the many roots, which are like tendrils reaching toward the floor...
