Repurposed Desk Drawer Sections

This is not your typical repurposed desk into nightstands. You seriously won't believe the unexpected repurpose of these drawers.
This is the stage AFTER I took the desk apart. This is where many people would find a new top for each piece and make 2 side tables or nightstands. But not me--I like to mix and match stuff. It's what I live for.

So, if you don't like to see furniture cut up and changed, you may not want to continue. :)
what do you get when you take a $15 thrift store desk, and combine it with . . .
a $1 yard sale el cheapo table?
It definitely is NOT what you expected, is it?

I have this old MDF Dresser that's covered in this laminate. The top of the dresser is damaged and the laminate is peeling and have water spots. I want to paint it and put new hardware on it. Do I sand the top to remove the laminate? And what kind of primer and paint should I use?

I love your creativity, its beautiful. I hope you can help me with my first DIY. I want to redo a boring and dull bedroom set. After I strip or sand I want a color not a stain and varnish. What type of paint is best? Is it regular water base paint? Thanks for you help.
