Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Dec 02, 2011There are several great contractors here on Home Talk. Do a contractor search on top of page to get a listing of several of them. Have you looked into any deck design software? There are tons of these design programs that are pretty cheep. This provides you with all sorts of ideas that you can look at before you decide on how you want it to look. As far as time of year to do this. As long as the ground is not frozen because of need to put footings in perhaps. This type of project can be done year round.Helpful Reply

KMS Woodworks on Dec 03, 2011When is does come time to build...you should consider Ipe or one of the other hardwoods like Brazilian Redwood. I have built a good number of decks with these dense, rot and a bug resistant materials. My own deck in will be 15 next year and still looks brand new. http://www.hometalk.com/activity/28313 http://www.hometalk.com/Kevin/project/2602 They are a renewable resource and not made for oil like most of the cheesy looking "plastic" decks.Helpful Reply
