We're still working on the Shabby Chic transformation of my bedroom... And aside from wanting to create a mural of birds with a garden feel, I came across this wonderfully shabby chic picture and want to try my hand at something similar. However this is the only picture I can find of it. Has anyone seen this before and do you know of the artist? I'm presuming it dates back to the 1920's, but that's as far as I know.

Thanks, Rose - I do too! Yes actually, in that my walls are currently going to be painted a very light soft green. :) Lovely floral profile pic, by the way. :)

Can you tell if the artist signature is Gibson or Stanislov? Seems S did more nudes and his girls had hats more often

Thanks again! I have to agree with you in that it looks like Gibson or Stanlaws - especially the Saturday evening post covers look a lot like it. I'm not sure about the signature, sorry. That's the biggest copy of the pic I can find and when I zoom, it gets distorted.

I envision a soft pink pillow with some texture to add some "pop" to your bedding if you plan to go all white or offwhite with the bedding.

Thanks Virtually, that sounds great! We're on the same wavelength - as a watercolor like pink is one of the colors I'm considering. Thanks, Flowerscapes! Green is one of my favorite colors - it's a very soft green. Yes, I would love any ideas or suggestions for it! :) I'm entertaining the idea of perhaps incorporating her into the bird mural - holding a bird or something of that nature.

Allposters.com has some vintage, botanical prints of birds. My quick scan showed many which may fit with your beautiful portrait and shabby chic. The prices on the first page ranged from $9 to $50. Happy Hunting!

Free IS a good price! If you find something that isn't the size you want, copy shops can enlarge it on just any paper. You could antique the paper to what would match at home

It is a paint by E.Christy.Earl Christy was an American artist who was born in Philadelphia, PA in 1882. He produced art for dozens of magazine covers and calendars. My favorites all seem to be from the 1920's.
