KMS Woodworks on Dec 21, 2011It is sad to think that this can provide any value to anyone in today's Global Economy. Unemployment, is at very high levels, people are struggling to meet basic needs of food and clothing...yet others think a 130K toilet is "needed". As an example of how tough things are for many read through this thread. http://www.hometalk.com/activity/114202Helpful Reply

Kevin M. Veler, Law Office of on Dec 21, 2011KMS, exactly my thought...okay well my thought was "Think how many this toilet could feed in a year" but somehow that just did not sound right. We have some people in this country earning over $10,000 an hour (no that is not a lawyer joke) while others barely earn that in a year of hard work. My favorite charity can provide a service dog and a lifetime of vet care and food for $20,000 - $25,000.Helpful Reply

Frank C on Dec 23, 2011I'll bet Sudam Hussan would have bought it. To match his GOLD plumbing. I would rather feed the hungry, or at least buy a house with that kind of money.Helpful Reply

KMS Woodworks on Dec 23, 2011You could buy more than one house...if is was of the basic tumbleweed type...as I talked about in this recent blog post. http://kmswoodworks.wordpress.com/2011/12/03/1-st-political-type-post/Helpful Reply

SawHorse Design Build on Dec 25, 2011I just installed a Toto toilet for my wife for Christmas. While the thought of a 130K toilet seems extravagant. These types of luxuries do create jobs and help keep the economy going. Many of the renovations that we see on hometalk are not necessary, however families are fed as a result of them.Helpful Reply

Sherrie S on Dec 26, 2011I actually prefer my Toto toilet to the $130,000 one. I would have to leave the receipt on the $130,000 toilet so everyone would know I was stupidly rich. I have no problem with people that have the money & make a choice. My next choice would be Koehler - reasonably expensive but beautiful.Helpful Reply

Kevin M. Veler, Law Office of on Dec 27, 2011Well to follow up my prior post, I did note that Conan did a wonderful endorsement of a similar high end toilet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQpXoX-ZyB0 Matt, I understand your point that remodelers often sell more than basics. They often sell dreams on the higher end. Still I think there are "dreams" and useful extravagence and simply over-the-top, but not sure I could define a bright line test myself.Helpful Reply
