Does anyone know what brand of solar flood light is the best ...at a reasonable price?

Dan's of Central Florida, Inc. on Dec 22, 2011Judi, I can't really suggest a specific product as best, but it sounds to me like you will want to get solar powered lighting that you can run the length of your drive.Helpful Reply

3po3 on Dec 22, 2011I can't suggest a product, but some folks on here have raised concerns about the light output and duration with solar flood lights. There is a good discussion here: http://www.hometalk.com/activity/100730Helpful Reply

Paul M on Dec 22, 2011I had to build my own because I couldn't find what I was looking for at a reasonable price. I made one for 650 in parts. Well it sort of looks home made but it works and has been lighting up our driveway for two and a half years now, that is all I wanted.Helpful Reply

LandlightS on Dec 22, 2011Sorry Judi....there is no such thing as a "Good" solar floodlight, unless you invest into high quality solar panels which come with a high quality price.Helpful Reply

LandlightS on Dec 22, 2011Here's a suggestion. Get yourself a good quality brass low voltage PAR36 lamp fixture. fitted with a 50 watt PAR36 Halogen Flood lamp and power by this solar panel: P70 Solar Panel / PV Cell (70 Watt / 12 Volt DC) $349.99, or you can buy LED solar flood lights from the same vendor at prices starting at $130.00 for 20-30 watt output. Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Dec 23, 2011Have you checked out on line for these. http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=solar+flood+lights&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=120233797690653884&sa=X&ei=Hxz0TujAAqn00gGK1azdBA&ved=0CJYBEPMCMAUHelpful Reply

LandlightS on Dec 23, 2011Good suggestion by Woodbridge, but check the specs carefully. 80 "super bright" LED running off of a 6 volt battery charge may not give you the Lumens in comparable watts output of light. LED marketing of products can be very miss-leading.Helpful Reply

ElectraMedics Electrical Services on Dec 23, 2011Solar Lighting in our opinion should be a last resort. The "green" concept certainly feels nice, but i am afraid the technology for the price has not lived up to expectations. Just simply not enough light in most cases.Helpful Reply

Clay B on Dec 23, 2011Solar lighting generally does not "light" anything. It helps you see where the walkway is for example, but does not light the walkway. I would look into Low voltage lighting, yes it's wired, but always works. Solar lights just don't last.Helpful Reply
