3po3 on Dec 31, 2011I have seen estimates up to two weeks, but one room should only take a couple of days. Keep in mind, though, that you may need to stay off the floor for 48 hours after the work is complete.Helpful Reply

Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Dec 31, 2011The longer the better, however temp, humidity and # of coats applied all have things to do with how long you need to wait. Normally after two days you can walk on the floor carefully. Putting any furniture on the floor, wait at least a week for tables and items that are not going to be moved around causing rub marks. Bed, I would wait at least 10 days. But I would put felt on legs as extra insurance. What did your flooring people say? After all are they warranting the finish that they applied? I am sure they have their opinion on this. What about the install instructions on the finish that was applied? They also have instructions on how long to wait before things get put in room.Helpful Reply

KMS Woodworks on Jan 01, 2012This varies by the finish...surface finishes like polyurethane are normally 72 hours for light traffic ( think socks) and 7-10 days for heavier traffic (furniture etc). a basic penetrating oil or wax Finnish could be used after 24 hours....but this type of finish is not very common. http://www.networx.com/article/exotic-wood-floor-finishes-you-havent-sHelpful Reply
