1960's Side Table Makeover

The new year has me cleaning and organizing up a storm! Once I took down all the holiday decor I started moving furniture around my house. That got me thinking about this thing... I found this unique 1960 side table months ago, but it has patiently been sitting outside, waiting for some love. Do you pass up dated furniture often??? Maybe you should think twice!
This piece was marked $15 at a thrift store, but I happened to be there on half off furniture day, so I stole it for eight bucks! Once I moved some things around in my house the perfect spot opened up for this table. It just need a makeover! Using the same paint I have as wall color all through my house (Sherwin Williams Pearly White) I made a batch of homemade chalk paint.
I don't have an exact recipe to share unfortunately. I find all paint to be different anyway. I simply mix a little Plaster of Paris and water into my selected paint and add water until the consistency is how I like it. Usually that is like runny sour cream. Then I paint away! It's good to sand in between coats, but I don't always. I DO always sand when I am finished painting.
For this piece I distressed it and added some touches of dark wax for an aged look.
