Shower drain repair confusion

This is in the top of the shower. My problem is that I will have to cut it out because it is not unscrewing from top or bottom. So I got replacement pieces on a whim, lack of sleep and what the stars is on most shower lines. Anyways, they are 1.5 inch pipes and I bought 2 in. this ties in to the other sink and bathroom tub and sink. Do I just leave it at 1.5 or convert this to the 2 inch pipes? I'm confused.

This may be more than an DIY project. Seems when it comes to plumbing, it always is....or you make several trips back and forth to the store to get part ;-)

Standard shower drains are 1.5, I did the same thing and went out and bought 2 inch pipe and then I took it back and bought 1.5 inch pvc instead. You can go ahead and just convert it to 2 inch at some point, no harm done.
