Naw, just creative! -
I really like both the green and white. The RED, no. -
I'll go with ya too on that one,,,,sherrie...I'll take the green , and white too! -
Given that the all white would give me nightmares. (I have a black, long haired cat) and its so bland, I think I would go with the green scheme. I love the red, especially that shade of red but would rather save it for a different room such as a dining room, sitting room, or an over-the-top powder room. -
The color books advise against red in the bedroom, they say it is energetic & disturbs sleep...do you agree? -
We have not had a client who wanted the walls painted red, but we have had several clients who wanted red in their fabrics. A deep red could be very dramatic and beautiful, romantic even! -
Color only is hard because some of the colors are so cluttered looking to me. I like simplicity. A very pale, silvery, icey blue with a splash of color, but not cluttered looking. -
I just moved into a small cape cod. I had the hardwood floors refinished but the wood trim around the windows and baseboards will be too much work to refinish so I want to paint. Any suggestions on color choices for the walls & trim? The rooms are small - 2 bedrooms and a living room that we have made our dining room. -
Our bedroom has a Merlot red accent wall that the headboard braces against. The other three walls are gold. With light blocking tapestry draperies (dark red) on the South facing wall, nothing prevents me from sleeping, except when I wake up. ps we are retired and do lots of gardening so we get tired... a lot ( love Victorian style) -
Tracy, what color are your accessories & fabric & furniture? Do you like beige or soft spa type pastel colors. If you can post a photo of some rooms I can advise you better. -
Right now the color in my house is my stress factor. It needs painting since most all the walls were white when we bought it. Well, that was a few years ago and it still isn't painted! The great room and entry hall are two stories and each can be seen from the other room. Needless to say, there are a myriad of other considerations too. For the first time in my life I'm at a dead stop. (Oh, and getting my husband's agreement is no picnic either). I think I'll just go ahead and have a nervous breakdown now and skip the intermediate steps! -
Connie, no need for a nervous breakdown! Do you have a piece of artwork or fabric that you love? Or maybe a rug? We usually recommend using one of those as the starting point for a color palette. If you need some professional help, that is one of the services we provide. -
I like number 8,I guess white. I have head green, blue, faraway touch of pink, faraway touch of yellow. -
Ours is three shades of blue to darken it for sleeping. The ceiling is the lightest. I need calm and peaceful at home, work is "vibrant" enough. -
Lee Ann....I am so putting red in my bedroom....maybe it will help! -
Jacqueline, red is a stimulating color, but color is an individual response. No 2 people see color the same. I would try just one wall first to be sure you are happy with the result. -
HA HA HA HA LeeAnne! I was being facetious. Forgive me. I dont think I could handle red. Little too daring for me! -
Yooooou got me! LOL -
Do you have a soft gray color that you could recommend for a bedroom? It's a really old house with ugly paneling and I was thinking of doing a combo of white on the angled walls and the soft gray on the bottom. Thanks. -
I love white, blue, black and sliver.........what does that make me? I read about the white and blue. -
Oh, and also I like in terms of the blue anything that resembles the ocean so like blue green family -
When I brought home the palette pieces with the grays they tended to be more on the black side then the gray/blue side. Do you like the Ralph Lauren paints? -
I have always loved and used the Ralph Lauren paints. I have even selected all Ralph Lauren colors for some Atlanta Car Wash Boutiques!!LOL -
OK so I am really trying to get a handle on this. I am moving to Florida - redoing a two - car garage for our bedroom/small living space. New house - great condition - I really need that ocean feeling - So, light blueish grey would be a good color for the wall, or white - I want to accent with teal, yellow, some light green...Any advice would so much be appreciated....I saw the beautiful buffet painted yellow - I have the same buffet and am planning to do the same thing and bring it....Thanks....

Judy, it is a pleasure to speak with you. Since you named so many wonderful colors and you are not afraid to paint your furniture, I think white or almost white walls with lots of colorful accents sounds like a great design plan. Florida motifs are so fun because of the colors. Don't forget the salmon tones, they are lovely.
