Merry D on Apr 11, 2013Yes, very likely any of those. It's definitely in the squash/watermelon/pumpkin/cucumber category. My first instinct was to say watermelon. The leaves seem closest to that, and the tough seeds can hang out a year or two before sprouting. My second guess would be pumpkin, same reason. I had visitors all over my front beds from a leftover Halloween pumpkin last year. :-)Helpful Reply

Debbie Gates on Apr 12, 2013I would have to agree with the others, squash or melon. It may get quite large so if you think it will take over your strawberries you should dig it up before it gets too large and replant it somewhere else. It will be exciting to see what it turns out to be. Please keep us posted.Helpful Reply

AK Complete Home Renovations on Apr 15, 2013Now we're so excited to see - zucchini, cucumber or pumpkin! We did move it about a foot further down from the strawberry. Thank you for the suggestion! Our garden space is small so it's going to take some guidance to get them all growing in the right direction =)Helpful Reply

Jane@Cottage at the Crossroads on Apr 21, 2013Cucumbers, pumpkins, and gourds all look the same to me when they are at this stage of growth. I transplant them out of our compost bin and allow them to grow in the garden. Sometimes I have been really surprised by what grew!Helpful Reply
