While photographing a proud seagull just north of Santa Monica, CA, the ice plant on this sandy hill definitely steals the show. The leaves and flowers are much larger than those in Metro Atlanta
Everything seems to be coming up roses in Southern California in the dead of winter, but the humongous iceplants gaurded by this seagull really take the cake.

KMS, at least you have movement in your view. snowflakes. I am looking at grey, grey. Feels like Seattle slew weather. I have a lot of camellias and they look tired of the grey. Hark! The lingering oak and beech leaves are cheering up the scene. Glad I looked out the window. The beach trip was when I went to L.A. for my dad's service. The beach, renewal, continuity, sunshiney freedom, sounds and scents to feel and replay. Dang it, I'm homesick again! By the way, I love Colorado and really bonded with Estes. Beautiful mountains, double rainbows, horses running...perfection.

We have had about 2 week of pretty constant cold wind...Last night I had a weird dream about mobile homes and tornadoes...must have been the shaking of the house all night due to the wind.
