How deer resistant are squash, peppers, and tomatoes? Any other suggestions? Bill in Williamson, Ga

If the deer are hungry they will eat anything. And I mean anything.

Not very. As Donna said, deer will eat virtually anything, particularly the obvious and tasty food sources, such as our favorite vegetables. You might have more luck with garlic, onions, chives and other stinky items.

They don't like to go in pumpkin patches if they are sprawled on the ground, tthe leaves are "sticky" on their legs.

The only deer resistant veggies I know of have a 12 gauge shotgun attached to the fruit.

As Donna and Steve said, they do eat anything.

Two years ago there was a place that grew tulips in the Bridgewater NJ area. They were to have some big display for all the flower growers in the tri-state area to show off all the latest and greatest varieties that they developed. ...»

Well the night before they were to have this event, someone left the front gate to the driveway open which was part of the deer fencing system. By morning there was nothing left over several acres of plantings. Only a few thousand green nubs stuck out of the ground.

Just leave the deer some soy sauce, so they can make stir fry and leave you the extra.

I recently received a sample from http://wirelessdeerfence.com/ and it looks like it has potential. Get a kit and let us know what happens.

Bill, Bill, Bill... All of what you mentioned are all resistant to deer. Yep, all the deer just can't resist the temptation to eat all you have!

I say... grow sufficient for you and plenty for them!

I know this is a little late to the party, but I just stumbled across a 2010 photo of one of my pepper plants after the deer found it. Obviously, the enjoyed most of it, but left us something.

don't forget about the rabbits! my fence is tall enough to keep the deer out, and still I have plants eaten.. figured it must be baby bunnies, so now I have to install a 3 foot high chicken wire inside the fence.
