Easy
I needed a valence for my home's powder room, but couldn't find the right valence. So using scrap fabric, fabric pens and stencils I got at my local craft store, I made my own valence. Instead of sewing the valence, I used Stitch Witchery.

Lauren of Mom Home Guide on Apr 14, 2013Hi -- the stencils are self-stick, but they come right off -- I removed the stencils once I filled them in with the fabirc pen. I got the fabirc pens and stencils from Joann. You can read more about how I made the curtain here: http://momhomeguide.com/2013/02/19/hand-stenciled-curtain/ I should be able to wash the curtain. Hope this helps!
