Black spots fungus on roses

My burgundy iceberg rose bush is doing very well. But today I noticed a few leaves with black spots. I'd like to try an organic solution. Has anyone heard of the home remedy spray made of one part milk to two parts water? Does it work? I want to stop this problem from spreading to the other roses in my garden. Thanks.

Douglas Hunt on May 04, 2013Sulfur dust is considered an organic treatment for black spot. Prune off all the affected areas and discard the foliage before treating. You'll have to reapply after it rains. http://www.rosemagazine.com/articles02/pages/blackspot.aspHelpful Reply

I heard recently that you can put sand in the bottom of a birdbath to help keep mosquitoes. Any validity to this?
